Arsenal appears to have taken a significant step forward in their pursuit of Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko, with reports indicating the player is inclined toward a move to the Emirates.
This development places Arsenal ahead in a competitive race that includes Chelsea, Manchester United, and several top Italian clubs. With a new striker identified as a priority for the 2024/25 season, Sesko has emerged as Arsenal’s prime target, surpassing alternatives such as Ivan Toney and Alexander Isak.
According to The Mirror, Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, has been spotted attending Arsenal matches, intensifying speculation about an impending transfer.
Arsenal is reportedly working to secure a reduced fee for Sesko, whose release clause currently stands at £45 million.
Sesko’s combination of physical presence and clinical finishing fits well with Mikel Arteta’s tactical approach. Despite not being RB Leipzig’s first-choice striker, with Lois Openda often preferred, the 20-year-old is seen as a long-term investment and a potential centerpiece in Arsenal’s quest for Premier League glory.
Meanwhile, Arsenal is also eyeing defensive reinforcements, particularly Feyenoord’s Quilindschy Hartman, which could influence their left-back options. Reports suggest Bayern Munich, led by new manager Vincent Kompany, is interested in Oleksandr Zinchenko, a player Kompany previously coached at Manchester City.
Zinchenko played a vital role in Arsenal’s resurgence during his debut season but has recently struggled with injuries and inconsistent form.
Bayern’s interest presents Arsenal with a decision: either recoup the £32 million spent on Zinchenko or retain his versatility as they push for the league title.
