BREAKING NEWS: “Bringing Rodrygo to this club is a priority for us, and we’re even willing to offer two of our important players in exchange,” said Enzo Maresca, as Chelsea reportedly name two key players they are prepared to include in a potential swap deal to secure Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

Chelsea are reportedly exploring the possibility of adding another winger to their squad before the close of the transfer window, with renewed interest in Real Madrid’s Brazilian forward, Rodrygo.

Despite recently acquiring Jamie Gittens, the Blues appear prepared to let Noni Madueke depart for Arsenal. In addition, Jadon Sancho has returned to Manchester United after his loan, and Mykhailo Mudryk remains sidelined with injury, leaving Chelsea with limited options out wide.

While Liverpool are currently viewed as the leading contenders for Rodrygo’s signature, Chelsea have not backed away from the chase. The 24-year-old attacker had an impressive 2023/24 campaign with Real Madrid, making over 50 appearances and scoring 14 goals across all competitions.

According to reports from Real Madrid Confidential, Chelsea may be willing to propose a high-profile swap deal in their bid to land Rodrygo. The deal could potentially involve Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix, two attacking players whose futures at Stamford Bridge are increasingly uncertain.

Joao Felix, in particular, is reportedly not part of manager Enzo Maresca’s long-term strategy and has been linked with a return to his former club, Benfica. Nkunku’s situation also remains unclear, with speculation mounting over his potential exit following a season disrupted by injuries and inconsistent form.

As of now, Rodrygo has not made a definitive decision about his future. The uncertainty could work in Chelsea’s favor, giving them a narrow window to present a compelling offer. However, even if the Brazilian becomes open to the move, Chelsea would still face significant challenges.

Real Madrid’s asking price for Rodrygo is expected to be steep, and matching the player’s wage demands could stretch Chelsea’s financial framework — particularly under the constraints of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

Ultimately, Chelsea’s pursuit of Rodrygo reflects the club’s intent to strengthen their attacking options and reshape the squad in line with Maresca’s vision. With Madueke possibly leaving, Felix and Nkunku unsettled, and Mudryk unavailable, securing Rodrygo would provide a major boost to their frontline.

But for that to happen, Chelsea must act decisively and structure an offer that satisfies both Real Madrid and the player. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether the Blues can pull off this ambitious transfer.
