Curtis Jones shared that he received a congratulatory message from former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp following the team’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City. He recounted to Match of the Day how he discovered the news. “I usually text my family after games,” he said. “This time, I saw a message from Klopp saying, ‘Congratulations on 100 games and here’s to 500.’ At first, I was confused, but then I checked and realized. It’s definitely something to be proud of.” He also acknowledged Klopp’s role in shaping the team, stating, “He’s the one who built this team, and Arne Slot has taken it further.”
As the season progresses, Jones is focused on the challenges ahead, emphasizing the importance of consistency and determination. “Every game presents a challenge, whether it’s against a top team or one lower in the table,” he remarked. “Our goal is to win every game, and if we do that, we all know what’s possible by the end of the season.”
Reflecting on the match against Leicester, Jones commended the team’s resilience and ability to adapt. He noted, “It was a tough game. They defended well, and it was hard to find space in the first half. We crossed too much, which played into their hands. But in the second half, we adjusted, kept possession, and that’s when the goals came.”
