Joan Laporta has outlined an ambitious plan to bolster Barcelona’s squad during the upcoming winter transfer window. With the activation of a new economic lever, the club president has secured the financial flexibility required to pursue key signings in January.
The strategy focuses on addressing critical areas of the team by finalizing three strategic deals to enhance their competitive edge.
According to reports from El Nacional, Barcelona’s financial challenges had previously forced a cautious approach in the transfer market.
However, this new development has significantly improved the club’s financial standing, enabling Laporta to prioritize reinforcements in crucial positions: left-back, right-back, and a forward capable of transforming the team’s performance in the second half of the season.
At left-back, Álvaro Carreras, a promising young talent from Benfica, has emerged as the top target. His potential addition would complement Alejandro Balde’s role in defense, offering coach Hansi Flick greater rotational options in a demanding schedule.
On the right side, attention has turned to Rayo Vallecano’s Ratiu, a player known for his defensive prowess and attacking contributions. With Jules Koundé currently the only viable option in that position, Ratiu’s arrival could provide much-needed depth.
In the attacking department, the focus has shifted to two high-profile players: Rafael Leão and Joshua Kimmich. Leão, a standout performer for AC Milan, is praised for his speed, dribbling, and goal-scoring abilities, which would significantly boost Barcelona’s offensive capabilities.
Meanwhile, Kimmich, a versatile midfielder with exceptional experience, would enhance the team’s control and creativity in midfield. Securing either of these players would be a major coup, but competition from other top European clubs is expected to be intense.
