Barcelona stumbled to a 1-0 defeat against Real Sociedad, ending a streak of positive results. Despite the setback, the Catalans remain at the top of the La Liga standings with 33 points from 13 games, holding a six-point lead over Real Madrid, who have a game in hand that could reduce the gap to three points.
Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta praised Hansi Flick’s overall work with the team but expressed his surprise at the coach’s decision to sideline promising young talent Pablo Torre.
Iniesta, speaking at a press conference, highlighted Torre’s abilities, stating, “He’s a top-class player who, given the chance, could even surpass De Jong and Fermin Lopez.”
He noted Torre’s recent impressive performance against Sevilla, where the player scored two outstanding goals, but questioned why Torre hasn’t appeared in any subsequent matches.
Iniesta concluded by urging Flick to give Torre more opportunities, as he believes the young midfielder could play a crucial role for Barcelona this season.
