Barcelona’s German coach, Hansi Flick, has reportedly recommended that the club’s leadership, headed by Joan Laporta, consider moving one of their key players during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Flick, who recently oversaw Barcelona’s resounding 4-0 win over Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu in the latest La Liga matchup, is looking to make strategic adjustments to the squad.
According to Spanish sports outlet Sport, Barcelona has communicated with forward Ansu Fati and his agent, Jorge Mendes, about a potential transfer this January.
While the final decision is up to Fati and his representatives, the club appears open to a loan arrangement should the right offer emerge. Fati has struggled to secure regular playing time under Flick, who reportedly lacks confidence in the young forward due to his recent underwhelming performances.
Flick’s approach emphasizes efficient and consistent performances, and Fati’s current form hasn’t met the expectations of the German coach, leading to minimal involvement on the pitch.
The report suggests that Flick has encouraged Fati to consider moving on in January to find more playing opportunities, as his future at Barcelona under the current setup looks uncertain.
Despite his potential and early promise, Fati’s role within the team has diminished, leaving him with limited minutes and few chances to impact the season meaningfully. Thus far, Fati has made only five appearances for Barcelona this season, amounting to 132 minutes of game time without recording any goals.
